The project was commissioned to Katerina Gkoltsiou by the Municipality of Neo Psyhiko, in accordance with the No 286/8-12-2009 decision and the No 585/29-01-2010 contract.  

The study area included the segments of a few central roads and Chrisohou Square. The planting proposal aimed at specific interventions, in order to improve the environment and the aesthetics of these places. The main goal was to enhance the landscape identity and to improve the image of the city.

 

The selection of hedgerows focused on the emphasis of corridors, the visual and kinetic guidance of users, the creation of visual barriers, the filtering of winds and the shade of areas during the summer period.

 

The proposed plants would combine the various colors, adapt to extreme climatic and soil conditions and be a mixture of evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs.

Aromatic shrubs and herbs would dominate the area of the square giving the

chance to the visitor for a pleasant walk and stay.
